October 13 – November 30, 2022, EXHIBIT SHOWING EXTENDED to December 16, 2022!
Artists’ Reception: October 13 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm
ABOUT THE EXHIBIT: Birds, both wild and domestic, are found across the planet and live in close relationships with humans. They influence society in concrete ways from food and fashion to hobbies and sports. Some species capture our hearts and imaginations while others are considered nuisances or pests. When we stop and notice birds, we may recognize their value and the importance of our relationship with them. We invite artists to submit work that responds to the presence or absence of birds in our daily lives. This exhibition coincides with Three Rivers Park District’s Big Year of Birds.

Terra Kind Studio showcases the creative work of visual artist and designer Kristin Maija Peterson. Growing up among prairies, lakes, rivers, and oak savannas along with her project work with environmental nonprofit organizations have collectively influenced her creative path. Kristin works in watercolor, graphite, color pencil, oil pastels and pen and ink, interpreting in detail the beautiful chaos within native wild spaces and its inhabitants found living there. She sees all living creatures as kin and is always kind to spiders.
