Hawaiian Postcard No. 6

Taro is the most widely cultivated species of plant in the Araceae family and is eaten as a vegetable in many parts of the world. All parts of the Taro plant are edible and used as food. Taro, called “kalo” in Hawaiian, is central to the Native Hawaiian creation story. It not only is considered sacred but the native Hawaiians believe it to be their ancestor. It is the staple of the native Hawaiian diet and at the core of the Hawaiian culture. Growing on the Waipio Wayside grounds is a variety of Taro, with bright magenta centers rimmed in emerald green. This Taro doesn’t grow in a field but among palms, succulents, flowering bushes, and ground-covering plants.

Printed using 61 lb. (230g/m2 ) acid-free, Premium Plus Photo Matte paper to give your print its high-quality color. Your print will arrive beautifully packaged with care, ready for framing, and shipped in eco-friendly materials.

Art prints are purchased unframed. One easy and affordable recommendation is to frame your new botanical print 5 x 7” print in a frame by PROJECT 62, a brand that most Target stores carry. Only use Artist Tape or Linen Hinge Tape to adhere your print to the mat. Never use scotch or duct tape as these are not acid-free and will deteriorate your print over time. Please find more information about framing your fine art print on our Framing Tips and Resources page.
