ABOUT THIS MINI COLLECTION

In Search of Peace & Daily Delights

Is there anything more peaceful than the color blue? Calming as blue sky? More inviting than cool blue water on a hot summer’s day? Or as delightful a surprise as seeing a bluebird land nearby?

What started as a meditative reprieve became a series of blue-layered small original watercolor paintings, of patterns found in nature, a collection I call Painting the Blues for Peace.

Creating these mini watercolors has been a way of keeping joy in my heart and acting with kindness when everything else feels like it’s coming apart unnecessarily, be it my internal environment or the environment at large.

This is an experiment. I’ve never launched anything like this before and promised myself I would not give way to doubt or anxiety. Painting the Blues for Peace is not about that kind of energy.

These mini Blues should be out in the world, creating space for calm reflection, a pause, a breath, a prayer.

Each mini blue watercolor comes with a story. All the minis measure 4×4 inches, framed with a generous white mat — ready to hang the moment it arrives, sent to you wrapped with love and gratitude.

ABOUT

Terra Kind Studio showcases the creative work of visual artist and designer Kristin Maija Peterson. Growing up among prairies, lakes, rivers, and oak savannas along with her project work with environmental organizations have collectively influenced her creative path. Kristin works in watercolor, graphite, color pencil, oil pastels, and pen and ink, interpreting in detail the beautiful chaos she finds in native wild spaces and its inhabitants who call these spaces home. Kristin sees all living creatures as kin and is always kind to spiders.
